Dear Billy,

Thanks for leaving me such a nice tooth. Since I'm sure you know the drill by now, I won't bore you with tales of Fairy Land and my big, toothy castle. Instead, I thought I'd share a few fun facts about teeth:

Adult humans have 32 permanent teeth, but snails have 25 teeth on their tongues!
Humans get two sets of teeth in their lifetimes, but sharks will have more than 40.
Your permanent teeth will include 4 canines, 8 incisors, 8 premolars, 12 molars and 4 wisdom teeth. (The wisdom teeth will probably have to be removed when you get older!)
Before toothpaste, people used combinations of ashes, honey-tobacco, chalk, and lemon juice to clean their teeth. Yuck!
In medieval Germany, kissing a donkey was supposed to cure a toothache.
The enamel on your teeth is the hardest surface on your body.
You'll spend 38 days of your life just brushing your teeth (if you're doing it right!)
