For kids who get cavities because of genetic factors, this printable tooth fairy letter reassures them about their oral hygiene and reduces stigma.
Text of the letter:
Dear Susie,
I heard you were feeling really bad about your lost tooth because it had a cavity and you were worried I wouldn't want it. Please don't feel ashamed! I know that you do a great job brushing and flossing every day and that you work hard to take care of your teeth.
I want you to know that cavities can form for a variety of reasons, from the food and drink you eat to how often you brush and floss to genetic factors! That means that some of these things are out of your control. You can still work hard and protect your teeth by brushing and flossing and limiting your sugar intake, but you also don't need to feel bad. This tooth came from you, and that means it's a great tooth! I'm very happy to have it.
I'm leaving you the same present I would for a tooth without a cavity. Keep up the good work, and thanks for being a great kid!
Your friend,
The Tooth Fairy
