When kids get different amounts of money from the tooth fairy, there can be questions and hurt feelings. This letter from the tooth fairy soothes anxiety and lays out the exchange system for teeth.
Text of the letter:
Dear Susie,
I hope you don't feel bad that you got less money for your tooth than your friend got for hers. I know that doesn't feel fair, but I promise that your tooth wasn't bad or not worth as much as your friend's.
The reason that kids get different presents for their teeth is that I always ask their parents what would be best for them before I start. Some parents want their kid to have a good work ethic, or a helpful allowance, or an educational book, or a cuddly toy. I think that's great! It's okay for families to want different things.
Maybe it will help to know what to expect. For your first tooth, you got three dollars! That's a lot because a first tooth is a big deal! (It goes on the top of the tooth fairy castle tower.) From now on, you'll get one dollar per tooth. (Except for molars. Molars are so big and helpful as building blocks in our castle that you will get two dollars for each molar.)
I hope that helps. Your parents love you, and so do I!
Love,
The Tooth Fairy
